The Four P's of Communication

At Everyday Communications, we’re dedicated to strategies that improve school-to-parent communications.  That’s why for this week's business announcement, we decided to share some research we came across relating to effective communication.

Allow us to introduce you to the 4 "P's" of school-to-parent communications. To be effective, make your communications:
  1. Positive--Send home words of praise and encouragement to improve communications with families through positive reinforcement.
  2. Personalized--Parents are often on "information overload" and can benefit from personalized notes that help break through the clutter.
  3. Proactive--It is never wise to wait until the last minute to communicate on any issue concerning students.  So be liberal about the timing and frequency of your communications with parents.
  4. Partnership—Foster a two-way line stream of communications to involve the parent and make give both parents and educators an avenue for better responding to issues that might arise.
